She obtained a bachelor's degree in materials technology from the Department of Applied Sciences - University of Technology - Iraq in 2011 and obtained a master's degree and a doctorate in the same department and specialization in 2016 and 2020. The research doctoral thesis was in the field of nanocomposites and polymeric mixtures in addition, Riyam became a member of the University of Technology and the Department of Life Medicine Engineering in 2021
