Under the supervision of the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department Dr.wisam kazem hamdan  and Ph. Dr. Saad Mahmoud Ali, a group of students from the Biomedical Engineering Department participated in an international conference and obtained approval to publish the research in a journal from Scopus Containers.

The research dealt with the study and discussion of current issues related to components, designs, manufacturing and processing methods of a continuous passive motion machine (CPM). Review and study of the latest research and studies related to continuous passive motion machine (CPM) design and related study of lower extremity diseases, advantages and complications of the operation. The design, development, and manufacture of a simple, lightweight continuous passive motion (CPM) machine was implemented as an effective way to help relieve knee pain through physical therapy. The design and manufacture of many parts of the machine involved the use of ANSYS 18.0 mechanical design software.

The efficiency of the productive device (CPM) with the three speeds provided by the device has been tested and checked on many patients paralyzed due to strokes, risks after knee surgery and severe pain in the lower extremities. The device has been shown to be of great help to patients in reducing pain, the risk of DVT after knee surgery in increasing the range of motion of the joint, and decreasing the length of hospital stay.

 

Prof. Dr. Wissam Kazem Hamdan - Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department participated in the discussion of a postgraduate student with his tagged thesis

" Empirical and simulated investigations of the dynamic, biological properties of the Bop-Ceramic system used as Orthopedic materials"

Where the discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib at Al-Nahrain University - College of Engineering - Biomedical Engineering Department

The discussion concluded with the student obtaining an honors degree, wishing him further success and excellence.

Ph. Dr. Raed Saleh Jawad received the silver medal for his participation with a patent in the work of the Fifth Exhibition of Patents and Industrial Models of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals 2022, which was held at the headquarters of the Industrial Research and Development Authority 9-11-2022, wishing him more success and excellence in service for our beloved country.

 

Under the patronage of the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Ph.Dr.wisam kazem hamdan , The  Biomedical Engineering Department held an introductory workshop on the Ct scan, delivered by the engineer (Ahmed Taha Ahmed Al-Jubouri), the official of the laboratory division in the department, Ph. Dr. ( Ali Galal).

It was held in the auditorium of the Civil Engineering Department, in the presence of the teaching staff, from among the students
