Under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Wissam Kazem, the respected Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, the Women Empowerment Unit organized a special celebration on Monday, March 8th, at Al-Quds Hall, coinciding with the celebration of International Women's Day.

The celebration, executed and supervised by the Women Empowerment Committee in collaboration and coordination with the Scientific Assistant, focused on highlighting the pivotal role of women in society across various dimensions. Women are the driving force of change in society. They constitute half of society in terms of composition and influence in upbringing and formation. They are mothers, sisters, wives, grandmothers, teachers, caregivers, and workers. The positive change that societies aspire to achieve is greatly dependent on the status of women and their ability to fulfill their roles.

They play a fundamental role in building and nurturing their families, through their responsibilities as mothers in raising generations and managing family affairs as wives. As societies progress and evolve, women not only fulfill their duties towards their families and raising children but also have a significant social role in various fields based on their academic, cultural, and social qualifications.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the female faculty members and affiliates of the department by the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Janan Star Khushan, the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Hussein Jameel, the representative of the department's faculty, Dr. Ali Jalal, and the Head of the Medical Devices Branch, Dr. Alaa Mohammed.
