The Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Technology held a "meeting for the Industrial Advisory Board of the department"

chaired by the Scientific Deputy, Professor Dr. Jinan Star

in accordance with the directives of the respected head of the Biomedical Engineering Department.

The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Board and the heads of departments to develop an action plan for the Board. The agenda included

reviewing the curricula and proposing enhancements to some subjects to align with the evolving requirements of the job market. Additionally, the meeting

reviewed the results of a survey conducted by the department among experts in biomedical engineering in public and private sectors regarding the

compatibility of the curricula with specialization requirements and the reinforcement of departmental outcomes. The survey results confirmed the robustness of

the department's curricula by a large margin regarding the aforementioned matters.

It is worth mentioning that the Industrial Advisory Board was adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as part of the Bologna

process to enrich the job market and build genuine partnerships between educational institutions and government ministries. Building partnerships is Goal 17

of the Sustainable Development Goals.

For the sake of a more beautiful Iraq, the Biomedical Engineering Department under the patronage and supervision of the respected head of department, Professor Dr. Wissam Kazem Hamdan, is organizing a campaign to plant gardens within the department's premises, with the participation of students."

Based on the directives of the esteemed Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Dr. Wisam Kazem Hamdan,

and in an effort to develop and support frameworks of mutual understanding in comprehensive educational processes,

it has been decided to establish a "Follow-up Committee for Memoranda of Understanding in the Department"

This committee will be chaired by Dr. Saad Mahmoud Ali, Assistant Professor in the Biomechanical Engineering Branch, along with several faculty members from the department. The committee's role will be to monitor the memoranda signed with all governmental, private, and international universities to ensure the implementation of these memoranda. Additionally, the committee will agree upon an executive program, including the timeframe, number of reciprocal visits, joint research, selection criteria for scholars and trainees to be exchanged between the parties, and organizing the necessary executive programs sequentially during the validity of this agreement. This will contribute to enhancing the department's and the university's level in global rankings and achieving advanced positions.
