Dr Zeyad Al-Shibaany, a lecturer at the Biomedical Engineering Department, won the Best Oral Presentation at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology (CAIT 2020) which was held (virtually) in Tokyo, Japan from 13th - 15th November 2020. The presented paper was about using AI technologies in mobile robot indoor localisation. The co-authors of the paper are Dr Saba Alwais (Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Technology, Iraq) and Mr MOHANAD N. NOAMAN (Electronics Engineering College, Ninevah University, Iraq). The paper will be published in the Conference Proceedings, which will be indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus and other main academical databases.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Dr Zeyad Al-Shibaany, a lecturer at the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Technology in Iraq, and the co-authors (Nadia Alkhafaji, Yaser Al-Obaidi and Alaa Abdulhasan Atiyah), won ZIGGURAT PUBLISHING GOLDEN MEDAL For achieving the First Best Presentation of their paper entitled “Deep Learning-based Phase Prediction of High-Entropy Alloys” at The Ziggurat International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering (ZICMSE 2020) which was held in London, UK from 5th to 6th of October 2020. The conference is published by IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, indexed by Scopus (CiteScore 2019: 0.6) and organised by Ziggurat Publishing in London.
 

Dr. Wissam Kazem Hamdan, The Scientific and Administrative Assistants and The Heads of Scientific Branches chaired a meeting of the faculty in the department hall to discuss the decisions of the Section Council on the controls and instructions issued by the ministry and the university presidency and put a mechanism to prepare with the beginning of the academic year and clarify the integrated electronic education and discuss the research of professors in the scientific committee and its approval and urged the teachers to give the curriculum vocabulary in the first lecture or laboratory at the beginning of the semester as well as the need to activate cooperation with research institutions in all state institutions, especially Research circles. The most important obstacles that will affect the progress of the scientific and educational process in the department and develop appropriate solutions to address them were also discussed. Mr. Head of The Department listened to the suggestions and opinions of the teaching staff and in conclusion wished them that this academic year will be a year distinguished by giving and excellence.

A book of gratitude and appreciation

The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, addressed a letter of thanks and appreciation to the administrative assistant, Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohamed Hamad, for his outstanding and distinguished efforts by following up the flow of examinations for the preparatory study for the academic year 2019-2020 by attending the expanded meeting with the administrative assistants And the heads of departments affiliated with the presidency of the university in the presence of the administrative assistant, wishing him further progress in the service of our beloved university.

                                                 

 

 

 

 

The mechanism of dividing students on the branches of the students by the branches: successful students from the second stage are divided equally into two branches (biomechanics branch and biomedical devices branch) based on the student's desire first and then on the rate of clarification: i.e. if the number of students wishing to join the systems to a particular branch more than the capacity specified for that branch is to be adopted the rate of the first and second stages of admission to calculate the priority of admission.
