We wish her more contributions to serve our university and our beloved Iraq.
A lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering Department, Assist. Prof. Saad Mahmoud Ali, Head of the Biomechanics Branch, participated in the discussion of the thesis (as a supervisor) of the doctoral student specializing in production engineering (Laith Fadel Shaker) on 11/12/2023 for the research tagged:
" Experimental Investigation of Nano-Powders to Enhance Magnetic Abrasive Finishing Performance”
A lecturer in the Department of Biomedicine, Assist. Prof. Saad Mahmoud Ali, Head of the Biomechanical Branch, published two research papers in two journals from Clarivate Containers. The first research paper is entitled:
"A Novel Design and Simulation of a Nano Prosthetic Artificial Heart Valves"
The first research aims to design and manufacture unique models of eight artificial heart valves that were examined using seven synthetic and nanocomposite materials to determine the best designs and materials in terms of durability, flexibility, and energy consumption. Biomechanical performance was also improved using the response surface methodology (RSM) and expert systems. The research was published in the International Journal of Engineering in Vol. 37, Issue 2, February 2024.
The second research is entitled:
"Improvement of the Fatigue Life of 3D Printed Nano Soft Artificial Heart and Heart Valves"
The second research aims to design, manufacture and test advanced models of a soft human artificial heart and artificial heart valves using nanocomposite and synthetic materials. It was also examined to determine the best service life for each type by simulating the diastolic and systolic pressures that occur in a normal heart. A new generation of a soft artificial hearts has also been produced by 3D printed techniques for permanent replacement and has a service life of tens of years, while the alternative to the temporary mechanical hearts currently implanted with high costs and a service life of no more than five years. The research was published in the Iranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering in Volume 20, Issue 4/January 2023.
