Vision:

The university is an essential part of society, playing a vital role in intellectual and spiritual development. The university is the institution that adopts high levels of culture, preserves it, adds to it, and provides the student who joins it with what makes them a cultured and professional individual.

There is no doubt that the university library in the Department of Biomedical Engineering is one of the most important tools relied upon by students in the department to achieve their academic goals. It directs its collections of library materials to support the curricula and academic courses at the university, and provides its services to students and researchers to meet the purposes of study and research.

Mission:

The library of the department derives its existence and objectives from the university itself. Therefore, its objectives are the objectives of the university, and the mission of the library is an integral part of the university's mission in education, research, and community service.

Objectives:

It is a scientific and cultural institution that seeks to collect, organize, retrieve, and disseminate information sources in all its forms to facilitate or ease access for researchers and beneficiaries to these sources as quickly as possible, with the least effort and the highest possible accuracy, in order to satisfy their information needs and desires in their field of specialization or work, whether in traditional or digital form. One of the most important objectives pursued by the library of the department is:

- Providing various sources to serve different scientific disciplines in the department.
- Creating a suitable atmosphere within the library for study and research through the establishment of specialized libraries and the preparation of spacious halls equipped with the latest office furniture.
- Providing information and library services to facilitate research and retrieval through the publications issued by the library and others.
- Developing library work in line with modern developments in library and information services.
- Preparing introductory programs for the beneficiaries, including professors, researchers, and students, about the services provided by the library and how to use the available information sources.
- Providing knowledge resources in various forms for scientific, applied, and human disciplines for the beneficiaries, including department students, department affiliates such as professors, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and staff.
- Promoting scientific activity and raising the level of the department and the university.

Technical Procedures:

These include everything related to the request, receipt, preparation, and preparation of information sources such as (books, theses, journals, etc.) and putting them into service for the beneficiaries. It consists of the supply, exchange, and donation unit: Through the supply unit, the library can acquire some publications through exchange, donation, and purchase. The unit works on registering books and theses in the library's records, as well as sorting books and theses surplus to requirements for exchange or donation to other universities and educational institutions. There is a committee for purchasing and preparing the necessary requirements for purchase.

University Library Services:

1. Providing distinguished services to researchers, including information search services, and quick consultation services - from the available evidence and indices in the library.
2. Providing new and advanced information services such as current awareness and selective dissemination of information and preparing bibliographies and indices, in addition to providing distinguished research services including providing necessary research tools for access and preparation of scientific research for the beneficiaries who visit the library.
3. Facilitating cognitive communication and achieving the element of control over information through cooperation between the department library and the central library at the university and reinforcing mutual lending programs, whether between the central library and the department library or libraries in other departments at the university.
4. Supporting informational services and working to document and reinforce the relationship with the community of beneficiaries with their various orientations and interests.
5. Supervising the preparation of programs that contribute effectively to disseminating valuable university messages.
